THANK YOU to Mercy Franciscan at West Park

for advertising in our bulletin.

Dear Parishioners,

Today is the Solemnity of the Most Holy and Undivided Trinity.  It caps the mysteries of our faith celebrated during the seasons of Lent and Easter.  As we shared in the dying and rising of the Lord Jesus and in the sending of the Holy Spirit, so now we celebrate the fullness of divine revelation:  there is one God in Three Divine Persons:  Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Although the missions (what they “do” for us) of each of the Divine Persons is important:  the Father creates, the Son redeems, the Holy Spirit sanctifies (and when One Divine Person acts the other Two act as well), what is more important as we celebrate today’s feast is the Holy Trinity’s own inner divine life and love.  It is more than what They “do”, it is about who They are. All that the Father is and has, He gives to the Son.  All that the Son is and has, He gives to the Father.  And, the love between the Father and the Son is the Holy Spirit.  They are in whose image we are made. Their life we now share in baptism and will share forever in heaven.  Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen. Alleluia!

--- Rev. Christopher R. Armstrong

2007 PARISH ELECTIONS RESULTS

Listed below are the newly elected members from our recent parish elections.  A special thank you is extended to our newly elected members and to all our nominees who ran for election and were willing to help our parish.  We encourage all nominees to run again next year!  Parish Council- Kristi Bengel, Randy Palicki, Mary Claire Torbeck. Worship Commission- Paul Autenrieb, Sally Stock.  Education Commission- Amy Domenicone, Martin Ludwig.

Beginning with the June set of monthly donation envelopes the School Support and Maintenance envelopes have been combined into one solid gold colored envelope.  This is being done to save money as the cost of postage has increased.  Your continued support of these funds is greatly appreciated.  Writing one check for both funds and designating the fund amounts on front of the envelope is acceptable. (Please note that we are aware of the spelling error and it will be corrected in the July packet.)

OUR TRAVELING CHALICE

During my internship here at St. Antoninus our parish began the Traveling Chalice. The purpose of the Traveling Chalice is to pray for vocations to the priesthood and religious life. Now that I have been ordained a priest it is right to say that Almighty God has answered your prayers. However, the prayers must continue. Consider signing up for the Traveling Chalice and pray for vocations. All families young and old are encouraged to join in this universal prayer for vocations. This is also an opportunity for families to pray together in quiet. Perhaps turn off the TV and radio and spend quiet time together praying for vocations. Your family could then conclude the time of prayer with a nice family meal. Thank you for all the prayers and support you have given me.

– Father Ron Haft

E-mail saintantoninus@fuse.net with your name and phone number or call Jennifer Ruwe at 451-0963 if you would like to participate.

DID YOU KNOW?  Good news from the Archdiocese of Cincinnati –   Teachers and other Church leaders have access to thousands of Catholic books, periodicals, video tapes and DVDs at three media centers, one each in Cincinnati, Dayton and the North.

Last year, 5485 religious DVDs and videos from the media centers were shown in schools and parishes of the Archdiocese to a total of 80,813 children and adults, while 1,535 print resources were borrowed.

The Archdiocesan Media Centers are supported in part by funding from the Knights of Columbus.

FROM OUR PRINCIPAL, MR. JACK COREY

Dear Parishioners,

On Friday evening the students of the Class of 2007 received their diplomas and ended their school careers at St. Antoninus.  From the bottom of our hearts, we wish them the best, and continue to pray for them as they go on to high school.  On a personal note, these students made my first year here extremely enjoyable.  For this I am grateful to them.

For the remainder of June, I would like to share with the parish the exciting things to come.  One of our new offerings will be Spanish in the seventh and eighth grades, four days per week.  The goal is to have our students complete Spanish I by the time they reach high school and test into Spanish II.  This can be done by eliminating homeroom in the morning and the afternoon, then reducing lunch/recess time from 55 minutes to 40 minutes.  By doing this we can add a 45 minute class without changing the length of our day.

As always, please continue to keep us in your prayers as we constantly work to improve the education of our students.

BID AND BUY DONATIONS NEEDED

Thanks to all the parishioners and businesses who have donated items. We still need smaller items that can be included in theme baskets. Any item you can donate will be appreciated.  Call Nancy Clements at 922-0223 or Kevin Anneken at 922-9616.
