The priests of the Archdiocese met in convocation in Columbus, Ohio, June 11-14. The topic was “The Spirituality of Leadership in Times of Change”. The presenter was Gil Rendle a Methodist Minister and senior consultant with the Alban institute. It was an intense few days of learning about change and managing transitions. It held a certain urgency as I looked around the conference room at my fellow priests. At 52, I am still among the youngest; I was saddened as I recalled the deaths or departures of others; I prayed that what we clearly lack in numbers now we will make-up with fervor and a new sense of purpose. The voices of nearly 200 men lifted up in prayer and song (the singing was exceptionally good!) lifted my spirit and renewed my hope in the future; for as Fr. Jim Willig use to say: “I do not know what the future holds but I know Who holds our future.”. + Included with this bulletin is the Examination of Conscience. As the summer has officially begun, and as I regularly instruct our parish school children that we ought to change with the seasons, so I encourage you to confess your sins and grow into the likeness of the Risen Christ. + + Many thanks to all who made the Athletic Club Summer Festival such a grand success. + + +

FROM OUR PRINCIPAL, MR. JACK COREY
Dear Parishioners: As we approach the end of June, our teaching vacancies are filling up. To recap, we are adding a kindergarten and a fourth grade class as well as replacing the vacancy left by Mrs. Judy Weber’s retirement. Mrs. Linda Wolff asked to move from second grade to first grade leaving the vacancy in second grade. Mrs. Ellen Vonderahe asked to move from seventh and eighth grade back to fourth grade where she has previously taught at St. Jude and in Michigan. We have filled the second grade position with Ms. Connie Johnson. Our new kindergarten class will be taught by Ms. Jessica Johnson. This gives us four Johnsons, three as teachers and our school nurse. Ms. Angie Heisel will take over as our seventh and eighth grade teacher filling the vacancy left by Mrs. Ellen Vonderahe’s move to fourth grade. Interviews are continuing for our Spanish position and I hope to name a Spanish teacher before the end of June. Just a reminder, the school office will be closed during the month of July. We are open from 7:30-11:30 for the remainder of this week.
St. Antoninus School has added a new section of kindergarten and fourth grade. We are still taking new enrollment for the 2007-2008 school year in most grades. Come see first hand why we are growing. For registration info call 922-2500.
