FROM OUR PASTOR

Dear Parishioners,

When the Archbishop was here recently for Confirmation, he mentioned in his homily that there were two distinguishing features of a mature Christian: generosity and gratitude.  Our model for both, of course, is our Lord Himself.  These past few days we have witnessed once again in prayer and Scripture, ritual and song how he poured out His life for the salvation of us all.  We can scare take it in, so superabundant is His love for us.  The risen Lord is not only our model for generosity but also for gratitude; indeed, it is the Eucharist, the very word means "thanksgiving"  that He left us as a memorial of His own generosity, of His own dying and rising and sharing of the Holy Spirit. It is in, with and through the Risen Jesus that we give thanks to the Father for all that has been accomplished as we are saved by the Son and sealed with the Spirit.  Likewise of have seen such generosity these past few days as so many people have contributed their time and talent to assemble and to minister for the Holy Week and Triduum liturgies.  My thanks to all; may our Risen Savior grace all our lives.
Next Sunday is Divine Mercy Sunday. Included in this bulletin is an explanation of the Feast. This year St Antoninus Parish will join Our Lady of Lourdes Parish at Our Lady of Victory Parish on that Sunday afternoon.  See details elsewhere in the bulletin.    Happy Easter to All!

-- Rev. Christopher R. Armstrong

FROM OUR PRINCIPAL, MR. JACK COREY

When we come back from break we will be in our open enrollment period.  For those interested in sending your children to St. Antoninus, feel free to call me for a tour at 922-2500.

A NOTE FROM OUR SEMINARIAN
Today we celebrate the Resurrection of Our Lord – Jesus has conquered death!  It is Christ’s resurrection that makes Sunday the “Lord’s Day,” a day set apart from all others.  For us Catholics, the most important activity of our week should be our participation at Mass on Sundays (or Saturday evening).  Every Sunday throughout the year we celebrate the reality of Easter – each Sunday is a “mini-Easter.”  There is no better time than the Easter season to renew our commitment to worshipping Our Risen Lord. Please join us every week for worship so that we can celebrate Sunday as a “mini-Easter” together.

HOLY SPIRIT PRAYER GROUP

As we gather together following the very beautiful liturgical celebrations of Holy Week, we anticipate the coming of Divine Mercy Sunday. How blest we are to receive this additional showering of Jesus’ love for us. On Tuesday we will meet in Chapel and share the highlights of Holy Week and discuss the promises of Our Lord to Saint Maria Faustina concerning His Divine Mercy. Join us at 7:30 PM for prayer and praise.

6TH, 7TH, & 8TH GRADE BOYS AND GIRLS are needed for the Sunday 9:30AM Mass Babysitting program.  Call Beth in the rectory office at 922-5400 to sign up.

YOUTH CLUB:  MEET ME!
Sunday, March 30th @1:00 PM, following the 11:30 AM Mass, please meet ME at Price Hill Chili! We will discuss plans for Cincinnati 2000, the 7th Grade Evening of Renewal and World Youth Day in Sidney! Call ME at 922-3848 to reserve!

YOUTH CLUB PRAYER WALK went very well.  The attendees were of high school and early college age.  In addition to taking turns leading prayers, the youth offered up intentions that showed genuine love and concern.   A gentleman heard about the Prayer Walk on the radio and came outside his home to offer us drinks of water.  A lot of people who drove by honked and waved! After the walk we went to the undercroft for lunch. Everyone enjoyed the talk and the interactive lesson by Mr. David Endres.  We played a couple of games and closed with a prayer circle.

DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY celebrated at 2:00PM on Sunday, March 30, at O.L. of Victory Church.    For info call O.L. of Victory parish office at 922-4460.
