FROM OUR PASTOR By the time you will read this, we will be half way through the Life in the Spirit seminar. Fifty-four of our parishioners are participating in this process to get to know God the Holy Spirit better. For my part I have been deeply moved by the teaching and witnessing to our Faith, which the parishioners from St. Maximilian Kolbe have shared with us. For me, it has been “sweet refreshment here below”. Also, different groups from our parish have been very generous in seeing to the details of hospitality, and the parishioners from St. Maximilian Kolbe have felt the warm welcome given them. I am deeply grateful to all who have contributed to making this seminar so spiritually invigorating. It is a reminder, yet again, of what a great place St. Antoninus is to grow in the Lord. -- Rev. Christopher R. Armstrong

FROM OUR PRINCIPAL, MR. JACK COREY Dear Parishioners, AIA Cincinnati, a chapter of the American Institute of Architects, sponsored a local competition for students in grades K-12 called “Architecture by Children.” This competition brings an architect from the area to help work with students on a project assigned by the AIA. This year Mr. Nie’s eighth grade science class participated in the competition for the first time. Mr. Don Junker, a St. Antoninus parishioner, was the volunteer architect assigned to our school. Mr. Junker helped our students think of ideas for designing a mass transit hub on the west side of Cincinnati. On Saturday, March 14, one group from St. Antoninus School won first place in the seventh and eighth grade competition for “Most Successful Use of Green Design Solutions.” The title of their mass transit hub was “Eco Station.” Members of the group were Christine R., Julia S., and Regina S. Other participants selected from Mr. Nie’s class to enter were: Nicole N., Anna H., Jenna M., Katarina G., Jenna Z., Samantha R., Katherine R., Rachel S., Kelsey M., Erin G., Christina S., and Christina S. Many have asked me about the assignment process for newly ordained priests. I may not know for sure what my assignment will be until May 14, when the Archbishop will officially make our assignments. I could be assigned as a full-time assistant (associate) in a parish or could be assigned to high school teaching and chaplaincy for a local Catholic high school. I could also be assigned to a combination of teaching and parish work. I will let you know when I receive my assignment.

HOLY SPIRIT PRAYER GROUP It is Lent, a time for reflection and repentance. And yet, in the midst of this, we pause and give prayerful thanks for the Annunciation and Incarnation which we celebrate this week. The greatest gift to mankind was the incarnation of Jesus in Mary’s womb at the Annunciation. When Mary said “yes,” Jesus took on our humanity to suffer for our sins. Without this willingness of His to go all the way to the cross, we would have no redemption for our sins, no reconciliation with God, and no promise of Resurrection. On Tuesday, Mary Handermann’s teaching will expand on this theme. We can praise God for the unselfish acceptance of both Jesus and Mary to comply with God’s plan all the way to the cross. In Chapel 7:30 PM.
“The Way of Love” Pro-Life 7th Annual Prayer Walk will be on Sunday, March 22, 29, and April 5th, at 2PM starting at the Burnett Woods bandstand in Clifton.
