Q What does funding athletics involve?
A Your Athletic Club currently sponsors 11 boy
and girl sports. Approximately 500+ children participate in these
sponsored sports. Funding includes uniform and equipment purchases,
payment of fees (league, official, tournament), gym rental, maintenance cost.
Q How are uniforms being replaced?
A Uniforms
for each sport are evaluated by the appropriate coordinators at the end of each
season and replaced for the whole sport on an as needed basis. Individual
uniform issues are addressed as required.
Q What is the connection to St. A. Church?
A The St. A. Athletic Club was established to
support youth athletics. It receives no funding from St. A. and is a
stand-alone entity in the St. A. community.
Q What is the source of the Clubs funding?
A The funding comes from 5 sources: the
festival, basketball tournament, membership dues, pay for play fees, and
additional fundraisers.
Q What is the financial status of the Athletic Club?
A Due to very strong financial leadership,
the Athletic Club is currently operating in a positive cash position.
Q What are the Clubs plans for the future?
A The Athletic Club Board is continuing to
improve the sports program at St. A. This shall be done by
continually upgrading uniforms and equipment, making improvements at Schott
Field, assisting our
Parish whenever possible, and adding to our facilities in the future.
Q Do we need pay for play fees?
A Compared to other parishes, St. A.
athletics is a great deal. Other organizations charge as much as $70.00
per sport to participate. The dues and fees are an important component is
keeping the Athletic Club on solid financial ground.
Q Why are you always asking for volunteers?
A Our organization is made up solely of
volunteers. Coaches, coordinators, Board members, and fundraising workers
are all volunteers. The more people that offer to help, the more we get
accomplished. The Athletic Club needs everyone to be involved!
Q When are Board meeting held?
A Board meetings are held the 3rd Thursday of
every month at 8:00 pm in the St. Joseph room. All members are welcome to
attend.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
