Dear St. Antoninus Parishioners,

Enclosed with this letter is an invitation to become a member of the St. Antoninus Athletic Club. The Club sends this letter out every year about this time. There is also a ballot to vote for potential Board members. I encourage all of you to become members and to vote for the new Board before the deadline noted on the invitation.

Let me tell you about some of the work the Athletic Club does or has done for the children of the parish. The Club has many volunteers who help to keep costs to a minimum. The Club has relied on funds from the membership drive and fundraisers to do some of the following in recent years:

Maintained a uniform replenishment program where uniforms are inventoried, inspected, and replaced on a cyclical basis.
Installed a drainage system at Schott Field, where our participants play football, baseball, softball, and soccer.
Organized volunteers who did both the spring and fall clean up at Schott Field. The Athletic Club, with some funding from the Schott Memorial Trustees, maintains Schott Field.
Donated basketballs to the school to be used on the playground during recess.
Donated funds for playground equipment.
Took the lead and helped pay for and maintain the bleachers in Savio Hall.
Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the gym floor in Savio Hall.
Started a new golf program for seventh and eighth grade boys & girls.
Required all coaches, coordinators, and Board members to attend the Archdiocese Decree on Child Protection education program.
Purchased and installed new scoreboards in the gym.
Donated new lights in the gym.
Purchased and installed new booster signs in Savio Hall.
Present an award in honor of Lou Noble in the form of two $500 high school scholarships to two eighth grade students each year.
Contribute a portion of the net proceeds from the annual festival to the parish.
And most importantly, provided affordable athletic opportunities for all of our children who participate in our programs (Many children participate in multiple sports). Our goal is for the children to benefit from the exercise, sportsmanship, and teamwork that playing for a St. Antoninus team provides.

These programs are not possible without the hard work of many volunteers and support of the three major fundraisers the Athletic Club organizes. The three are the annual Summer Festival (June 13- 15, 2008), the annual Basketball Tournament held in the fall, and the annual Golf Outing held each spring. It takes a lot of volunteers to make these a success. I appreciate all the hard work of the Board members, coordinators and parent volunteers who support these fundraisers.

The annual dues for full membership, which include voting rights on the enclosed ballot and participation in the sports programs, are $70.00 per family and non-voting membership dues are $35.00. Your ballet and membership are due by February 19, 2008. The dues will increase to $100 if paid after June 1, 2008. These have remained the same for several years. We have been fortunate to be able to keep the annual dues and pay-to-play fees lower than most of the other athletic associations in our area.

Please help us maintain and improve our athletic program at St. Antoninus. There are many volunteer opportunities available throughout the year. Helping at the annual Summer Festival is a great way to get involved. Also, coaching a team, coordinating a sport, working the basketball tournament, helping with the golf outing and maintaining Schott Field are some of the ways you can join in our effort to keep the athletic program at St. Antoninus thriving. Please contact Todd Logan, incoming president, or any Athletic Club Board member to volunteer for an Athletic Club event.

Dear St. Antoninus Parishioners,

The annual membership drive for the St. Antoninus Athletic Club has officially started. The Athletic Club rules require that participants in any Athletic Club sponsored program, adult or child, be a paid member of the Athletic Club.

The mandatory membership policy IS NOT intended to prevent anyone from participating in the sports programs. If the yearly dues and participation fees present a financial hardship, please contact Scott Reiter and your membership will be approved. This will be handled on a confidential basis.

The St. Antoninus Athletic Club wishes to thank all members for their support. A special thank you to those Parishioners who no longer have children in our school and continue to give generously to continue the outstanding sports programs at St. Antoninus. Our goal is to provide the best possible program to promote fair play and good sportsmanship with all our children, parents and coaches.

We have included a ballot so that you can vote for the candidates who are running for the Athletic Club board this year. A brief statement from each candidate is on the attached page. You may also return these by placing them in the Sunday church collection basket.
