Article I – Name
The name of this organization
shall be the St. Antoninus Parent Teacher Organization (PTO).

Article II – Purpose
The purpose of this
organization shall be:

To render service to the parish
and the community through religious, charitable, educational, and social
activities.

To be active in fundraising.

To facilitate communication and
cooperation between and among parents, faculty, administration, and the parish
of St. Antoninus.

Article III – Membership
-
Any parent or guardian of a current student of
St. Antoninus School who is interested in the objectives of this organization
shall be eligible for membership.

Any faculty or administration, who is a parent
of a current student of St. Antoninus School, who is interested in the
objectives of this organization shall be eligible for membership.

The faculty and administration of St. Antoninus
School shall be “ex-officio” members of this organization.
-
Payment of dues is required for membership, but
one need not be a member to take part in the activities of this organization.

Article IV – Officers
The officers of this
organization shall be President or Co-Presidents, Vice President or Co-Vice
Presidents, Co-Treasurers, and Secretary. There shall also be two (2)
“ex-officio” representatives from the Faculty/Administration of St. Antoninus
School who will attend all board, special, and general meetings.

Article V – Standing
Committee
The Standing Committees of this
organization shall include: Art Week, Book Fair, Campbell’s Labels, Career Day,
Christmas Nursing Home Visit, Educational Family Fun Night, Everybody Counts,
Family Directory, Grandparent’s Day, Hospitality, Hot Lunch Program, Lunchroom
Duty, Magazine Drive, Market Day, Music for Little People, Olympic Day,
Picture Person, Playground Duty, Safety Patrol, School Chairperson(s), Skating
Parties, Special Receptions, Spirit Wear, Split The Pot, Uniform Recycling,
Welcoming Committee,.
Additional Committees may be
appointed as needed by the President or Co-Presidents.

Article VI – Meetings
At least three regular meetings
of this organization shall be scheduled throughout the school year. Special
meetings may be called by the President(s) or by two (2) Board Members.

Article VII – Funds
In the event of the dissolution
of this organization, any and all remaining funds shall go to its successor. In
the event that there is no successor, any and all remaining funds shall go to
St. Antoninus Church.

Article VIII – Amendments
This constitution may be
amended at any regular or special meeting by a two-thirds plus one (1) majority
vote of those members present, providing a proposal in writing for such
amendment is filed with the Secretary and announced in both the school weekly
newsletter and in the church bulletin at least two (2) publications prior to the
reading and voting of the amendment at such meeting.

Article IX – Review of Constitution
The PTO Constitution should be
reviewed and amended, as necessary, every three years, with the next review
occurring in 2008. Members of the PTO will be invited to serve on this review
committee through normal channels of communication.
