1.         COM'N KIDS...AND PARENTS TO THE ST. ANTONINUS SKATING PARTY.  Monday, January 21, 6:00-8:30 p.m. at the Western Rollerama.  The cost is $4.50 and includes Skate rental.  Skating is a great way to work off those holiday pounds...a 150-pound person who roller skates for an hour can burn at least 600 calories, according to the American College of Sports Medicine, and this month parents can skate for half price---just $2.25.

 

2.         FAMILY FUN NIGHT.  "Around the World" will be held on Tuesday, January 29, from 6:30 until 8 p.m. in the Gym and around the School.  Plan on attending with your children -- It is always a fun event and gives you a chance to spend time with them.  Your help is needed to make this a successful event.  PLEASE consider volunteering -- the form is enclosed with this week's White Envelope.  We will try to set a schedule for Volunteers so that you can still spend time with your children "traveling."  Any questions, please don't hesitate to call:  Patti Brunst, Coordinator @ 451-7652 (evenings).

 

3.         TAP APPLICATIONS.  Tuition Assistance Applications are available for families having financial hardship this current 07-08 school year.  In-parish school families with children in grades 1-8 may apply for assistance to offset part of their tuition.  Applications must be received in the school or parish office by Thursday, January 31, 2008.  Awards will be made in early February.

 

4.         ATTENTION EIGHTH GRADE PARENTS:  It would be helpful if you would let the school office know, in writing, if/when your son or daughter is offered a scholarship of any kind to a high school.  We are pleased to hear of the successes of our students and would like to be able to make this information known.  If you choose that we not publicize this information, simply indicate that concern when you write.  If you prefer, please send an e-mail to corey@saintantoninus.org or Mrs. Bepler, School Secretary, bepler@saintantoninus.org.

 

5.         ST. A GIRL SCOUT FATHER/DAUGHTER SQUARE DANCE.  Will be held in the undercroft on Saturday, January 26, from 7-9 p.m. (doors open at 6:45 p.m.).  The cost is $5.00 at the door for scouts; dads are free.

 

6.         LAROSA BUDDY CARDS ARE AVAILABLE.  The "new" Buddy Card includes 12 coupons for buy a large pizza get a large cheese pizza free; buy a large pizza get a calzone, hoagy, or two garden salads free; AND one Cincinnati Zoo coupon which is valid for the Festival of Lights.  Please contact Sue Ulmer at 922-2159.

 

7.         ATTENTION EIGHTH GRADE STUDENTS AND PARENTS.  We would like to collect pictures from all your years at St A. for your graduation breakfast.  Please send any pictures you would like to share to school, marked with your name and phone # so we can return them to you.  And remember to take lots of pictures during this year so we can include them also.  We are looking for all kinds of events:  scouts, sports, school events, etc.  Send them in an envelope marked "8th grade pictures - Attention Diane Martini” through the school office or you can e-mail them to me at rmartini2@cinci.rr.com.  We will be collecting them all year.  Thank you in advance for helping.    Questions?  Contact Diane Martini at 922-0963.

 

8.         FREE DANCE WEEK AT THE CINCINNATI BALLET.  The Otto M. Budig Academy of the Cincinnati Ballet is offering a Free Dance Week from Tuesday, January 15, through Monday, January 21, 2008.  Complimentary classes in various dance styles for all levels of ability will be offered at the Cincinnati Ballet's Downtown, Blue Ash, and Northern Kentucky University locations.  This is a wonderful opportunity to experience the expert instruction offered by the staff of the Otto M. Budig Academy.  Class schedules can be obtained by visiting www.cincinnatiballet.com or by calling the Cincinnati Ballet at 621-5219.  The schedule is also available on a brochure which can be obtained in the school office.
