1.         REGISTRATION 2008-09.  Registration forms for returning families for the 2008-09 school year were sent home on March 12 with the youngest child of each family.  Once again the TMS form is being used as registration for all families.  Payments options will be the same:  1 time payment in June, 2 payments in June and December, and Monthly payments to TMS beginning in June.  Also, school policy requires that tuition be paid in full before registration can be accepted for the new school year.  Tuition for the current school year was due March 10.

 

2.         REGISTRATION -- FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:  Please make registration checks payable to St. Antoninus School.  “Family ID:” on TMS form is your Church Envelope number.   Student’s grade should be grade in 08-09.  Registration [TMS form and Registration fee ($100/student)] is due back to the school office by Friday, April 11.  (If your current K-7th grade student is not returning for the 2008-2009 school year, please check the appropriate box at the top of the TMS form.)  If you have any specific questions when filling out the TMS form, please contact Peggy James, Business Manager, in the Rectory Office, at 922-5400.  If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Mrs. Bepler in the School Office at 922-2500.

 

3.         ELDERS SCHOLARS ASSISTANCE PROGRAM.  If you are going to be in 8th grade next year at the parish school, you are eligible to compete for an ESAP Scholarship.  ESAP, formerly EDSAP, is the Elder Scholars Assistance Program – a privately-funded grant program administrated by Elder High School.  One 7th grade girl and one 7th grade boy will be chosen from our school.  Applications are available on the Elder website: www.elderhs.org.  Once there, click “Parents” on the top banner and then on the Parents page, click “EDSAP” on the left side.  Scholarship applications are due May 1, 2008.  ESAP financial aid awards are available to families with students entering the 5th-8th grade at the parish school next year.  Applications available April 1 on Elder’s website.  See www.elderhs.org for more details or contact Maureen Regan at Elder at 921-3744 ext. 3423.

 

4.         PARISH SPAGHETTI DINNER.  The PTO will be organizing the Parish Spaghetti Dinner on Saturday, May 17. This is a wonderful opportunity to get involved.  All parishioners are invited to the Spaghetti Dinner.  The PTO needs volunteers to help during the evening.  Anyone interested in volunteering for the Spaghetti Dinner, please contact Julie Scott at 922-3015 or juliescott2@hotmail.com.

 

5.         JOG-A-THON IS APRIL 28.  Pledge sheets went home in last week's white envelope.  If you need a copy of the pledge form, you can find it in on the St. Antoninus webpage, saintantoninus.org, or pick one up in the office.  THANKS!

 

6.         JOG-A-THON FUN FACT #1.  With over 410 students running or walking the track last year, can anyone guess how many total laps were completed?  Read further on in the newsletter to find the answer …

 

7.         PTO SURVEY.  PTO has secured a survey with P&G as a fundraiser (enclosed in today’s white envelope).  It is for woman only, and if you qualify, you will be asked to use a product in your home for a period of time and to answer a survey with your opinion of the product.  There is NO one-on-one interview necessary.  Please take a few minutes to complete the attached screener and return to the office by Monday, April 7.  If there are any other women (sisters, mothers, neighbors) who would be interested, please go the saintantoninus.org website to print a copy and return.

 

8.         BIRTHDAY CLUB NEWS.  We thank the following people for recent donations to join the 2007-2008 Library Birthday Book Club.  Thank you Matthew, Max and Riley R., Cody D., Timmy H., Lindsay A., Margaret L., Christy R., David, Susan and Robert N., Kevin H., Kevin B., Loren P., Bailey and Maddy V., alumna Mrs. Julie Busken.  Thank you, too, to Girl Scout Troop 5553 for their contribution.  We’ve also added titles to our collection as gifts to the following staff members:  Father Mick, Miss Tenoever, Mrs. Geers, Mrs. Uehlein, Mrs. Obermeyer, and Mrs. Milano.  The generous donations of our friends truly enhance our St. Antoninus School Library and help us keep our collection updated.  We welcome help for the library anytime.  Perhaps summer birthdays could be remembered now!

11.       CONGRATULATIONS TO THE 6TH GRADE BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM.  They had an exciting season going 49-8.  They were first place in league play and completed the year by winning the city championship.  The team members include:  Nick H., Nick T., Jack J., Dominic F., Jake L., Michael M., Thomas A., Andrew S., and Nick M.

 

12.       FALL SOCCER SIGN-UPS.  For boys and girls will be held on Sunday, April 6, after 9:30 and 11:30 masses in the Youth Room in the Undercroft.  This is the only sign up date we will have.  Please mark your calendars now!  Attention parents of incoming first graders who are interested in playing:  child must be 6 years old by 7/31/08 in order to play SAY soccer.  If younger, see notice regarding lollipop soccer.  Should you have any questions before then, please contact Julie Burke at julieburke@current.net, or 513-347-7435, or Bernie Pfeiffer at 922-7355 or at Bernie.Pfeiffer@SunTrust.com.

 

13.      LOLLIPOP SOCCER.  Sign ups for Lollipop Soccer will also be held Sunday, April 6th after 9:30 and 11:30 masses in the Youth Room in the Undercroft.  This is for children ages 4 and 5.  Should you have any questions, contact Judy Rigney at 347-7708 or judy_rigney@yahoo.com.

 

14.       FOOTBALL SIGN-UPS.  Football sign ups will be held on Sunday, April 6th after 9:30 and 11:30 masses in the Youth Room in the Undercroft.  Should you have any questions, please contact Jeff James at 451-9199

 

15.        2008 JAGUAR CUP.  New this year from the St. Antoninus Athletic Club and the soccer program, a 3 v 3 soccer tournament to be held at Schott Field over the weekend of July 25-27.  Cost - $60 per team.  Teams of six. 16.       TOY AND CLOTHING SALE.  Sellers needed for the St. Antoninus Girl Scout Toy and Clothing Sale, Saturday, April 5, 2008, 8:30 a.m.-12 p.m. in the Church Undercroft.  Sellers should register by contacting Mariellen Rechtin, 467-1616 or trechtin@fuse.net.  The following items may be sold at the sale:  baby/child/teen clothing, school uniforms, maternity clothing, baby equipment (strollers, car seats, etc.), toys, children’s videos and books, parenting books.  More information can be found on a link from the Church web site, www.saintantoninus.org.  Sellers receive 60% of what is sold.

 

17.       ATTENTION EIGHTH GRADE STUDENTS AND PARENTS.  We would like to collect pictures from all your years at St A. for your graduation breakfast.  Please send any pictures you would like to share to school, marked with your name and phone # so we can return them to you.  And remember to take lots of pictures during this year so we can include them also.  We are looking for all kinds of events:  scouts, sports, school events, etc.  Send them in an envelope marked "8th grade pictures - Attention Diane Martini” through the school office or you can e-mail them to me at rmartini2@cinci.rr.com.  We will be collecting them all year.  Thank you in advance for helping.  Questions?  Contact Diane Martini at 922-0963.

 

18.       YMCA CAMP ERNST COUPONS.  YMCA Camp Ernst is proud of over 75 years of summer camp excellence.  We promote positive character development in young people.  Coupons are available in the school office.  Please call or stop by the school office.

 

19.       SWIM LESSONS.  Mercy HealthPlex will be offering group swim lessons for ages 6 months – adult starting on April 12, 13 – May 17, 18.  Private and semi-private lessons are also available by appointment.  For registration, or additional information, please contact Annie @ 389-5465.
