1.         PTO GENERAL MEETING.  Please mark your calendar for the next PTO General Meeting.  All are invited.  Join us for refreshments at 7:00 p.m., with the meeting at 7:30 p.m. in the Undercroft on Wednesday, April 16.  We are a Team ~ Achieving the Best for our Students!

 

2.         REGISTRATION 2008-09.  Registration forms for returning families for the 2008-09 school year were sent home on March 12 with the youngest child of each family.  Once again the TMS form is being used as registration for all families.  Payments options will be the same:  one time payment in June, two payments in June and December, and monthly payments to TMS beginning in June.  Also, school policy requires that tuition be paid in full before registration can be accepted for the new school year.  Tuition for the current school year was due March 10.

 

3.         REGISTRATION -- FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:  Please make registration checks payable to St. Antoninus School.  “Family ID:” on TMS form is your Church Envelope number.   Student’s grade should be grade in 08-09.  Registration [TMS form and Registration fee ($100/student)] is due back to the school office by Friday, April 11.  (If your current K-7th grade student is not returning for the 2008-2009 school year, please check the appropriate box at the top of the TMS form.)  If you have any specific questions when filling out the TMS form, please contact Peggy James, Business Manager, in the Rectory Office, at 922-5400.  If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Mrs. Bepler in the School Office at 922-2500.

 

4.         ELDERS SCHOLARS ASSISTANCE PROGRAM.  If you are going to be in 8th grade next year at the parish school, you are eligible to compete for an ESAP Scholarship.  ESAP, formerly EDSAP, is the Elder Scholars Assistance Program – a privately-funded grant program administrated by Elder High School.  One 7th grade girl and one 7th grade boy will be chosen from our school.  Applications are available on the Elder website: www.elderhs.org.  Once there, click “Parents” on the top banner and then on the Parents page, click “EDSAP” on the left side.  Scholarship applications are due May 1, 2008.  ESAP financial aid awards are available to families with students entering the 5th-8th grade at the parish school next year.  Applications available April 1 on Elder’s website.  See www.elderhs.org for more details or contact Maureen Regan at Elder at 921-3744 ext. 3423.

 

5.         PARISH SPAGHETTI DINNER will be on Saturday, May 17, 5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m., in the Undercroft.  Cost per family is $5.00, and each family is asked to bring a dessert or 2-liter of pop to share.  A reservation form will be in the Church Bulletin.  At the dinner, we will be offering best wishes to Deacon Forrest Wallace and family on their upcoming move to Ave Maria University in Naples, FL.  Volunteers are needed for setup, serving, and clean up.  Please contact Julie Scott at 922-3015 or juliescott2@hotmail.com.

 

6.         JOG-A-THON IS APRIL 28.  Pledge sheets went home in last week's white envelope.  If you need a copy of the pledge form, you can find it in on the St. Antoninus webpage, www.saintantoninus.org, or pick one up in the office.  THANKS!

 

7.         JOG-A-THON Fun Fact #2:  How many miles did the students run at the Jog-a-thon?  Read further on in the newsletter to find the answer …

 

8.         ATTENTION WOMEN 18-65:  PTO is still accepting the survey sent home in last week's white envelope.  Please see our website, www.saintantoninus.org to download a survey, and pass the survey on to sisters, mothers, friends.  The more surveys we have that qualify for the study, the more money the school will be paid.  After turning in your survey, and if you qualify, you will be asked to use a facial product in your home for a short period of time, then fill out a questionnaire.  There is no one-on-one survey or return visit.  The product will be picked up here at St. A.  THANK YOU FOR YOUR PARTICIPATION!!  St. A PTO.

10.       THANKS FROM THE LASITA FAMILY.  The Lasita family wishes to convey their gratitude for everyone who assisted them in their need.  They say, “…it is knowing that we live in a community with people like you that assures us that we will get through this.  Thanks and God Bless Everyone.”   The Lasitas.

 

11.       YOUTH CLUB UPCOMING EVENTS.  April 11, 12 & 13:  Cincinnati Youth 2000 Retreat:
A three-day (not overnight) Eucharistic retreat for all Cincinnati area young Catholics ages 13 and up.  The program is sponsored by the Archdiocese and St. Gertrude Parish and hosted by Moeller High School.  St. Antoninus has coordinated transportation for all west-side participants.  The cost for the retreat is $35, which includes meals.  For a complete schedule of events, permission slips and transportation schedules, please call Julie Heil, 922-3848 or via e-mail:  rjdcp@fuse.net.
April 12 & 13:  St. Vincent de Paul Society Spring Truck Campaign:
Young people are needed to help load the truck for the St. Vincent de Paul Society Spring clothing drive.  If you can donate a couple of hours to help load the truck, please call Julie Heil, 922-3848.  The hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Satuday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
April 25:  "ENTER IN" - Evening of Renewal for 7th Grade Recently Confirmed:
Invitations will be forthcoming for all 7th grade recently confirmed parishioners to attend an evening of renewal to kick-off membership in the St. Antoninus Youth Club.  Please save the date!!!
Sunday, May 8th:  Third Annual Family Rosary Rally
Music begins at 1:40 p.m. at THE PIT!  Come pray the Rosary!

 

12.        2008 JAGUAR CUP.  New this year from the St. Antoninus Athletic Club and the soccer program, a 3 v 3 soccer tournament to be held at Schott Field over the weekend of July 25-27.  Cost - $60 per team.  Teams of six.  T-shirts included.  Four games minimum.  Trophies for champions and finalists.  Spots are limited so register early.  For more information check out the website:  http://www.saintantoninus.org/Organizations/Athletic_Club/jaguar_cup.html.

 

13.       ATTENTION EIGHTH GRADE STUDENTS AND PARENTS.  We would like to collect pictures from all your years at St A. for your graduation breakfast.  Please send any pictures you would like to share to school, marked with your name and phone # so we can return them to you.  And remember to take lots of pictures during this year so we can include them also.  We are looking for all kinds of events:  scouts, sports, school events, etc.  Send them in an envelope marked "8th grade pictures - Attention Diane Martini” through the school office or you can e-mail them to me at rmartini2@cinci.rr.com.  We will be collecting them all year.  Thank you in advance for helping.  Questions?  Contact Diane Martini at 922-0963.

 

14.       YMCA CAMP ERNST COUPONS.  YMCA Camp Ernst is proud of over 75 years of summer camp excellence.  We promote positive character development in young people.  Coupons are available in the school office.  Please call or stop by the school office.

 

15.        SWIM LESSONS.  Mercy HealthPlex will be offering group swim lessons for ages 6 months – adult starting on April 12, 13 – May 17, 18.  Private and semi-private lessons are also available by appointment.  For registration, or additional information, please contact Annie @ 389-5465.
