1.         WELCOME BACK to all our students and parents.  Please keep us in your prayers so that we may have a tremendous year.

2.         OPEN HOUSE:  The School Open House is scheduled for Wednesday, September 12, at 7 p.m.  We will begin in the Church.

3.         FORGOTTEN ITEMS:  Just a reminder, when a forgotten item such as an assignment or lunch is brought to the office, it will be the responsibility of the student to come to the office to claim it.  We will not be delivering them to the classroom nor interrupting class to have students come to the office.  Students are reminded to check the office when they are missing any item.

4.          THE ST. A. NEWSLETTTER is a great way to communicate information to all families with children at

            St. Antoninus.  If you would like to put information in the newsletter, send an e-mail to the address above, or call Carrie Steinhaus at 347-3725.  If you send an e-mail, put all information in the e-mail.  All information must be in by 6:00 p.m. on Thursday because the finished newsletter is sent to school on Friday morning for copying.  It is then distributed in the next week’s white envelope.  If you have any questions, please call Carrie or the School Office.

5.         STUDENT PLANNERS.  Students in grades 2-8 received a student planner in their homeroom.  The cost is $4.50 per planner.  If you have not already done so, please send $4.50 to your child’s homeroom teacher in an envelope marked “Student Planner” with your student’s name and homeroom.

6.         INTERNET ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY & WEB PERMISSION:   Two-sided form is found in Grades 2-8 planners.  Grades K and 1 were distributed separately.  Please complete student and parent portion (both sides) and return to homeroom teacher by Thursday, 8/30.

7.         MILK & ORANGE CARDS will be sold on Tuesdays and Fridays.  To order, place $4 in an envelope marked “Milk Card” or “Orange Card” with your student’s name and homeroom, turn into the teacher, and the card will be returned to the student.  There are 20 punches (drinks) per card.

8.         PTO VICE PRESIDENT POSITION OPEN.  Your St. Antoninus PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) currently has the Vice President position open on the PTO Board.  This can be filled by 1 or 2 volunteers.  Having a complete Board helps achieve the goals of your PTO.  The PTO is a vital part of the St. Antoninus community.  Please consider volunteering to take a more active role in your PTO.  Thank you!  Anyone interested in this position, please contact Maria Allen at 922-2493 or Joan Berning at 451-2427.

9.         SPIRITWEAR NEWS:  Please see the enclosed flyer.  The Spiritwear Shop will be open Friday, August 31, 7-8 a.m. and 2-3 p.m.  We are accepting orders for gym uniforms and expect the gym uniforms and school sweatshirts to be in stock within the next couple of weeks.  Questions or suggestions or to volunteer, please call Lisa Egner at 347-7119 or e-mail eggs01@fuse.net.

10.       NEW HOT LUNCH CHOICE.  Arby’s will be replacing Lee’s Chicken for Friday hot lunch.  The kids voted:  Arby’s 308 to Lee’s 75!

11.       SWIM LESSONS.  Mercy HealthPlex will be offering group swim lessons for ages 6 months-adult starting on September 8, 9 – October 13, 14 and October 20, 21 – December 8, 9.  Private & semi-private lessons are also available by appointment.  For registration, or additional information, please contact Annie @ 389-5465.
