2.         CUB SCOUT OPEN HOUSE/KICK OFF MEETING.  This Friday, September 21, 7:00-9:00 in the Undercroft for all current and new scouts, and any other boys grades 1-5 interested in learning more about the program.  Activities and refreshments will be served.  Come as a family!  Fun for all!  For more information, contact Joe Nolan or Frank Ellert.

3.         ATTENTION EIGHTH GRADE PARENTS:  A Shadowing Permission Form from the St. Antoninus School Office needs to be completed if an eighth grade student wishes to shadow at a high school.  The form is signed by the student, parent, St. Antoninus homeroom teacher, and the high school official (teacher).  The form does not need to be completed if the eighth grader is shadowing on a day that St. Antoninus School is not in session.  Because often times the School Office does not see these forms until after the shadowing is complete (they are returned to the homeroom teacher), the School Office would like a phone call or a note from a parent letting us know the eighth grader is shadowing and where.

4.         ATTENTION SEVENTH GRADE PARENTS:  As many of you know, the seventh grade has traditionally hosted the graduation breakfast for the eighth grade.  We are in the process of gathering volunteers to help with the event which will be held in the spring.  If you are interested in helping, we will have a preliminary meeting September 20 at 7 p.m. in the Undercroft.  We will need many volunteers and all are welcome.  If you would like to help but cannot attend the meeting, please call Lori Rolfes, 451-9737 or Diane Martini, 922-0963.  Hope to see you there!

5.         EARLY DISMISSALS/FUTURE ABSENCES:  Parents, in addition to copying the teachers on any early dismissal/future absence notes/e-mails, please also copy Mrs. Bepler in the School Office.  Also, according to the handbook, after an unexpected student absence, “Upon the student’s return to school, the parent must send a written note to the homeroom teacher stating the reason for the absence.”  If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to the call the School Office.

6.         MAGAZINE DRIVE.  We can accept late magazine orders and broken prizes until Sept. 18.  Please send them to the school office with your child’s name on them.  Any questions, call Michelle Moore at 347-0951.

7.         MARKET DAY.  Thanks to all of our September customers.  Our first sale of the year was a great success.  We would love to see October be even more successful.  If we reach our goal in October, our library can earn $400 in new books in addition to the 10% of total sales the PTO will receive.  If you have never ordered from Market Day before, please consider ordering in October.  The food is terrific and the library could really use our help.  You can order online at www.marketday.com or look for the October form coming home next week in the white envelope.  Any questions, call me at 451-3650.  Thank you, Jenee Ferguson.

8.         OPEN HOUSE.  A special thank you to Susan Roberto who organized workers for the volunteer table.  The assistance of all the volunteers and those who signed up to volunteer in the future is greatly appreciated.  Also, our thanks to Donna Kinnemeyer and Marcia Wessels who provided hospitality and refreshments in our school cafeteria.  Teachers and faculty, the classrooms looked great and so did all the students’ projects and papers!  We so much appreciate all your hard work in teaching our children and your dedication to making St. Antoninus such a terrific place to be.

9.         SPLIT THE POT WINNERThank you to all the parents who participated in the PTO Split the Pot!  The winning number was announced during open house and the winner has yet to come forward.  The winner is #5240871.  If you are holding the winning ticket, you will receive $187.50.  Please contact Janet Weber at 922-2291 ASAP if you are the winner!

12.       SPIRITWEAR NEWS.  If you haven't submitted your surveys, please do so as soon as possible. We would like to get that information tabulated and begin ordering new and exciting spiritwear items selected by you!  A special thank you to Sandy and Steve Healey-Wenhold and Diane and Rick Martini who worked the Spiritwear Room at Open House. We did a lot of business and their assistance was greatly appreciated.  Please watch the newsletter for times of operation.  We will be open next on Friday, September 21, from 2:15 until 3:00 p.m. There is a delay with the gym shorts due to issues with the manufacturer.  Many schools are experiencing the same problem so don't worry.  It is anticipated we will have the gym shorts in stock by early October.  Uniform sweatshirts and gym t-shirts should arrive sometime within the next week or so and will be reported in the newsletter.  If you have prepaid your order, the items, along with your receipt, will be sent home through your child as they arrive.  Thank you for all your support and patience as we continue the transition!
