1.         GRANDPARENT'S DAY THANK YOU!  We would like to extend a word of thanks to all who made our annual Grandparent's Day at St. Antoninus School such a success.  Thank you to the 136 families that sent in food, and to the 30 parents who volunteered to assist with the reception.  Thank you to the faculty and staff for planning the Mass and classroom activities.  Thank you to the PTO for funding the activities for the day.  Thank you to Carrie Naber for taking pictures of the school children and their guests.  We would also like to recognize Sam Beltsos and Price Hill Chili, who for years has donated the coffee for the reception.  There was an unofficial record turnout, and we hope that all the grandparents and other special adults enjoyed their day at St. Antoninus.  Thanks again to everyone for their assistance.

 

2.         BOYS COMBO TEAMS OPEN GYM. The open gym times for the selection of combo teams are as follows: 7th/8th 6-8pm, Tuesday, October 16th; 5th/6th 6-7:30 Thursday October 18th; 3rd grade 5:30-6:30 Tuesday October 23rd; 4th grade 6:30-7:30 Tuesday October 23rd.

 

3.         2007 YEARBOOK JCPENNEY PORTRAIT STUDIO COUPON. All families who purchased a 2007 yearbook should have received a complimentary family portrait session and free 10x13 portrait coupon from JCPenney Portrait studios with their yearbook.  Just as a reminder, the portrait offer may be redeemed through October 2007.  There are a few extra coupons in the front office if anyone needs one.

 

4.         SCHOOLBELLES.  As the Schoolbelles store by Bigg’s has closed for the season, there are other opportunities to purchase items from Schoolbelles:  1) at their 9695 Kenwood Road location in Blue Ash; or 2) online at www.schoolbelles.com by entering St. Antoninus school code 2005.  If you purchased items from the Schoolbelles flyer that went home recently in the white envelope, those items should be in mid-November.  If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the School Office.  Order forms for girls leggings will be sent home next Monday.

 

5.         WRAPPING PAPER SALE.  Look in today’s white envelope for the catalog and order form for American Greetings wrapping paper sale sponsored by St. A. PTO.  Order forms and checks (payable to St. Antoninus PTO) are due in the school office by October 29th.  If you have any questions, please contact Karen Hartoin @ 451-6386 Lori Rolfes @ 451-9737.

 

6.         HALLOWEEN HAPPENINGS. Come one and all!   It is time again for the annual Halloween Happenings!   Thursday, October 25th from 6pm - 8pm in the Undercroft.   Look for the flyer in the white envelope.   Advance reservations $3   Pay at the door  $5.    Dress up in costume and bring a bag to collect your treats and prizes!   Appropriate for all kids ages 3-9 years.    Any questions, please call Diane Martini  922-0963 or email rmartini2@cinci.rr.com.

 

7.         ELDER YOUTH WRESTLING SIGN UPS.  Registration for the Elder kids and junior high wrestling team will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, in the Elder High School wrestling gym.  The programs are intended for grades 2 through 8.  For more information, call Jake Noble at 922-2534 for the junior high team or Ken Lambers at 276-3980 for the kids’ team.

 

8.         EIGHTH GRADE BAGGERS AT BIGGS.  Our St. Antoninus 8th graders will be bagging groceries at the Crookshank Biggs on Friday, Oct. 19th from 5-7pm!  Please give them your support.   Money raised is for the Washington Trip. Note - this is not a school sponsored event.

 

9.         EIGHTH GRADE FUNDRAISER.  Help support the Yankee Candle Fundraiser for the 8th grade Washington trip. Please contact any eighth grader or Debbie Dine @ 347-9028 or ddine1227@fuse.net for ordering now through Oct. 19th. Yankee Candles make great Christmas gifts! This is not a school sponsored trip, but a parent sponsored trip and fundraiser. Thank you for your support.

 

10.       ATTENTION 8TH GRADE STUDENTS AND PARENTS.  We would like to collect pictures from all your years at St A for your graduation breakfast.   Please send any pictures you would like to share to school, marked with your name and phone # so we can return them to you.   And remember to take lots of pictures during this year so we can include them also.   We are looking for all kinds of events; scouts, sports, school events, etc.....Send them in an envelope marked "8th grade pictures - Attention Diane Martini" through the school office or you can email them to me at rmartini2@cinci.rr.com  .   We will be collecting them all year.    Thank you in advance for helping.    Questions?  Contact Diane Martini at 922-0963.

 

11.       6th GRADE GIRL SCOUTS TOY AND CLOTHING SALE.  Mark this date: Saturday, April 5, 2008!  Are you cleaning out your closet?  Would you like to make some money selling your gently used children’s clothes, maternity clothes, toys, children’s books/videos, or baby equipment?  Plan on being a seller at our sale.  Sellers can be individuals (outside or inside of parish) or scout troops/dens.  More information will be forthcoming, or call Mariellen Rechtin 467-1616, e-mail trechtin@fuse.net.
