2.         SCHOOL DIRECTORIES.  These were distributed last week.  If you ordered one and don't have it, check your child's schoolbag!  We do have some extra available for anyone who still wants to join PTO or needs another book.  Send $5.00 with your name and who to send it home with in an envelope marked "SCHOOL DIRECTORY - JANE HAMBERG" and I will send it home through school.  I want to extend a big THANK YOU to Carol Hartfiel, Amy Bepler, Kristi Bengel, Kathy Freed and Steve Berning who provided me with many hours of much needed (and MUCH APPRECIATED) help to get this out.  Feel free to contact me at 451-8650 with any questions.

3.         WRAPPING PAPER SALE.  A catalog and order form for American Greetings wrapping paper sale sponsored by St. A. 7.         MARKET DAY.  November is pie bonus month. The PTO can earn extra $$ for each pie sold in November. Consider ordering your pies for the holidays through Market Day.  I heard that they are delicious!!  You can place your pie orders through the regular Market Day order form in this week’s white envelope, or through the special pie form that was sent home last week.  You can also order online @ www.marketday.com. Any questions, call me @ 451-3650. Thanks, Jenee Ferguson.

8.         PLAYGROUND BALLS REQUESTED.  Do you have an excess of playground balls in your garage?  Do you have doubles and would like to give one away?  The St. A playground would love to have them.  Please send any footballs, basketballs, or four-square balls (no hard balls) to school with your child and have them drop them at the office.  We will mark them St. A. Playground property and place in the bin during playground.  THANK YOU!!

9.         SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR.  Please mark your calendars for the upcoming Book Fair to be held during school hours on November 12, 13 and 14.  We are planning family events where parents and grandparents can shop and purchase items for Christmas, birthdays, etc.  Look in this week's white envelope for volunteer sheets, etc. Any questions or comments, please call Patti Brunst at 451-7652 after 3:00 p.m. daily.

10.       MUSIC NEWS.  This week’s “Shining Star” award goes to… Riley R. Riley is a third grader in Miss Ottke’s homeroom.  Riley’s favorite song is “Miami” and favorite singer is Will Smith.  Riley’s favorite movie is “Bench Warmers.”  Riley is going to take electric guitar lessons soon and is very excited.  Great job Riley!

11.       JUST A REMINDER.  After school, the upper lot is reserved for parents who have children in A Child’s Garden.  All others must use the lower lot.  Thank you to the 99% who follow the procedures even though the traffic below may be somewhat inconvenient.

12.       BOYS’ BASKETBALL.   We currently have 22 third grade boys signed up for St. Antoninus basketball.  In order to maximize playing time for each boy we will field three teams.  Spots not filled by 3rd grade boys will be open to 2nd grade boys.  Open gym for the 3rd grade boys is Tuesday, October 23, from 5:30-6:30 p.m.  At that same time, 2nd grade boys are invited to try-out to fill any open spots.  Again, that is Tuesday, October 23 at 5:30 p.m. in the gym.
