1.         SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR.  The Book Fair will be open for family and friends after the Masses on Sunday, November 11, and in the afternoon (3:00 - 5:00) and evenings (6:00 - 8:00) on Monday, November 12, and Tuesday, November 13.  The evening times are to coincide with the Parent-Teacher conferences and there will be rewards given to the class who has the most parents participate at those times.  This is in addition to the "during school hours" in which the kids can visit and select items.  Any questions, give me a call!  Patti Brunst, 451-7652.

 

2.         ST. ANTONINUS RAKEOUT.  All school families are invited to help clean up the St. Antoninus grounds on Saturday, November 17, at 9:00 a.m.  This is our annual rakeout.  Many hands make light work, so bring along your own rake and enjoy a morning of fellowship and community service to our parish

 

3.         HEY KIDS … LET’S ROLL!  The next St. Antoninus Skating Party is Monday, November 19, 6:00-8:30 p.m., at the Western Rollarama.  The cost is $4.50 and includes skate rental.  FYI – all skating parties are held on the third Monday of each month through May.  Any questions, please contact Marybeth McIntyre, 451-9145.

 

4.         THE EDUCATION COMMISSION.  The meeting will be held on Monday, November 19, at 7:30 p.m. in the school conference room.  Visitors are always welcome.  If visitors wish to speak, they should contact Maggie Pater a week prior to the meeting to be included in the agenda.  Contact Maggie at 922-2735 or at maggiepater@yahoo.com.

 

5.         MESSAGES FOR STUDENTS.  Please limit phone messages to students to emergencies.  After school arrangements should be communicated with your child before the start of school.  Thanks in advance for your cooperation!

 

6.         MUSIC NEWS.  This week’s Shining Star award goes to… Joey B.  Joey is a fourth grader in Miss Cassidy’s homeroom.  Joey’s favorite song is “All the Ends of the Earth” and favorite singer is Alex Wolff.  Joey’s favorite movie is “The Incredibles.”  Joey wants to learn to play the drums and always sings along in music class.  Great job Joey!

 

7.         ATTENTION EIGHTH GRADE STUDENTS AND PARENTS.  We would like to collect pictures from all your years at St A for your graduation breakfast.  Please send any pictures you would like to share to school, marked with your name and phone # so we can return them to you.  And remember to take lots of pictures during this year so we can include them also.  We are looking for all kinds of events; scouts, sports, school events, etc.  Send them in an envelope marked "8th grade pictures - Attention Diane Martini” through the school office or you can e-mail them to me at rmartini2@cinci.rr.com.  We will be collecting them all year.  Thank you in advance for helping.    Questions?  Contact Diane Martini at 922-0963.

 

8.         NEW YEAR’S EVE DANCE.  Mark your calendars for December 31 and make plans to attend the St. Antoninus PTO-sponsored New Year’s Eve Dance.  The party starts at 8:00 p.m. and ends at 1:00 a.m.  The cost of $25.00 per person includes beer, wine, soda, champagne at midnight, party favors, DJ, and Skyline Cheese Coneys!  Come celebrate 2007 and bring in 2008 with family and friends.  For more information contact Jackie Anderson at 451-4264; Lori Rolfes 451-9737; or Lauri Sullivan 451-4142.

 

9.         ATHLETIC CLUB BOARD.  The Athletic Club is looking for volunteers to serve on the Board for 2008.  Please contact Scott Reiter at 922-5002/reiterjjjls@fuse.net or Todd Logan at 922-1782/toddlogan@msn.com for more information.

 

10.       SOCCER COORDINATOR NEEDED FOR FALL 2008!  The Soccer Coordinator position will be available to anyone interested for both boys and girls soccer.  If you are interested in becoming the next coordinator, please contact Julie Burke immediately.  You may coordinate both boys and girls or choose one or the other.  Season preparation will start in late March, early April.  If you have any questions regarding the position itself, please contact Julie at 513-347-7435, or via e-mail at julieburke@current.net.

 

11.       BOYS HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL.  Gym times for boys’ high school basketball team selections are Tuesday, November 13, 10-11 p.m. for 9th and 10th graders, and Thursday, November 15, 10-11 p.m. for 11th and 12th graders.  Boys must be a member of the St. Antoninus parish in order to participate.

 

12.       OKLAHOMA!  Mercy Performing Arts presents “Oklahoma!” November 9, 10, 16, & 17 at 8 p.m., and November 11 & 18 at 7 p.m.  Ticket price is $8.00.  Call for tickets, 513-661-2740.
