FROM OUR PASTOR

Fr. Mark Burger told me that he tells his parish at least twice a year that he is happy being a priest and so am I! Yesterday, May 23, saw David Endres ordained to the Priesthood! It is my sincere hope that sometime in your life you will witness this Sacrament which Christ has given to His Church in order to care for her until He returns in glory. This past year we also witnessed the sixtieth anniversary of Fr. Mick's faithful service to the Church as the Lord's priest. To honor that, we established a burse in order to fund the education of seminarians (to which one may still contribute!). This coming year we will have a seminarian intern living with us, Matt Robben. On June 19, of this year our Holy Father will inaugurate the Year of the Priest. Therefore, we have indeed much to be thankful for as Fr. Endres celebrates his Mass of Thanksgiving here next Sunday, May 31, at 11:30 am; a reception follows in the undercroft.

-- Rev. Christopher R. Armstrong

FROM OUR PRINCIPAL, MR. JACK COREY

Dear Parishioners,

This week St. Antoninus School would like to send our congratulations to Fr. David Endres ordained on Saturday. We were extremely blessed to have had him as an intern and we will continue to pray for his success as a priest. During his time here, he was a great role model, not just as an intern studying for the priesthood, but as a person.

We wish Fr. Endres the best as he continues his work at Bishop Fenwick High School. We know the students and faculty will certainly be blessed by his efforts there.

FROM DEACON DAVID ENDRES

This weekend I begin my ministry as a priest. I am excited to be able to celebrate Mass for the first time. Next weekend on Pentecost Sunday, I will celebrate Mass for the first time at St. Antoninus at 11:30 AM. All are welcome to join me in prayer and praise of God.

HOLY SPIRIT PRAYER GROUP

Many of the seven major gifts of the Holy Spirit which are given in Confirmation are never unwrapped by the recipient and are thus unused or may be misunderstood. Some (like wisdom, knowledge and understanding) may be mistakenly lumped together as the same thing. In addition, counsel, fortitude, piety and fear of the Lord may be difficult to define for the average person. On Tuesday, Mary Lynne Rapien will focus on the seven and their differences in order foster in us a desire to knowingly and purposely use them. Meet in the Chapel at 7:30 PM.

ST. ANTONINUS CUB SCOUTS is hosting their Fourth Annual Car Show, Saturday, May 30, (rain date 6/6), from 9:00 - 3:00. Free to the public, come view the cars, raffles, food and music/DJ. If interested in entering a car, contact Frank Ellert at 922-8227.
