Even though we are told that if we seek the Lord, we shall not want, in the second reading St. Paul reminds us that, thus blessed by the Lord, the good steward should “give thanks to God the Father always and for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Chris.”  Let us always be thankful to the Lord for our Treasures, our Talents and our Time.  How can we best give back to the Lord of our Treasures, our Talents and our Time?

Remember St. Antoninus in your will.

The Traveling Chalice wants to

come to your home!

Thank you to Dave and Kristi Bengel and Family who took the Traveling Chalice into their home for one week to help pray for vocations to the religious life.  If you would like the Traveling Chalice for one week, please call Debbie at 922-2414.

FROM OUR PASTOR

I would like to call your attention to two upcoming events to increase your faith.  Carmelo Cortez, who has the gift of healing and the approval of his Bishop, will be here at our parish on Wednesday, Sept. 2 at 7:00 p.m.  He was here last year, and among other things, the “pictures on the rose petals” certainly left a deep impression on those who experienced it.  Also, beginning on Saturday, Oct. 3 and continuing on the weekends of October and on Sunday November 1, St. Antoninus and St. Maximillian Parishes will be hosting a Life in the Spirit/Growth in the Spirit Seminar.  More information will be forthcoming.

Fr. Christopher R. Armstrong

TRAVELING CHALICE

Thank you to Sue Carroll who took the Traveling Chalice into her home for one week to help pray for vocations to the religious life.  If you would like the Traveling Chalice for one week, please call Debbie at 922-2414.

RCIA TO BEGIN ON SEPTEMBER 15, 2009

HOLY SPIRIT PRAYER GROUP

The Old Testament is a miraculous book in many ways – and even more the prophetic books. They tell of a person who had not yet been born – someone to come thousands of years in the future, Jesus Christ. Among the prophetic books is the work of Isaiah, poet and prophet. He is known for his splendor of language, his brilliance of imagery and for his majestic and beautiful style. He is considered the great messianic prophet and the prince of the Old Testament seers. He is without peer – no other prophet is equal to him. This Tuesday, Mary Handermann will present Part One of an overview of this remarkable book. Come and be inspired by hearing the message that is still very relevant today. In Chapel, 7:30 PM.

FAITH & FINANCES

St. Antoninus will be offering Our Sunday Visitor’s parish program “7 Steps to Becoming Financially Free”, a fully Catholic, small group study on managing your money. This six-session program (starting August 26) aims to help you make the most of God’s gifts through group discussion and peer support. The program follows the book and workbook of the same name. For more information or to sign up, call the parish office. Space is strictly limited.
