Remember St. Antoninus in your will.

+

One miracle of Pentecost was that, despite their diversity, each listener heard God’s word in his or her own language. The meaning for stewardship is that, by sharing the gifts poured out on us by the Holy Spirit, we will be empowered to meet the needs of our brothers and sisters, whatever they may be.

SAINT VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY

MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL has been offered for Mary Pearson.  Please keep her and her family in your prayers.

FROM OUR PRINCIPAL –    JACK COREY

Dear Parishioners,

This Friday our eighth graders graduate from St. Antoninus.  This class was a group of quiet leaders.  Without much fanfare these students pursued excellence.

These students earned over $140,000 in scholarships.  Ten of our eighth graders took high school level Math.  Nine of these woke up early every school day to take Honors Algebra I and one took high school Algebra online through Mercy High School without the benefit of a “live” teacher every day.  Eighteen eighth graders either participated in Mass as a Eucharistic Minister, Lector, or Altar Server.  That is 41% of the total eighth grade class.

As this class goes on to high school they will continue the great reputation St. Antoninus students have in our area high schools.  The faculty expects great things from this graduating class because they have done great things here, quietly and humbly.

On behalf of St. Antoninus Parish School we wish to thank the eighth grade class of 2010 for all the great years they have walked our hallways.  We will miss them.

FROM OUR SEMINARIAN

MATTHEW ROBBEN

“There are different kinds of spiritual gifts but the same spirit…To each individual the manifestation of the spirit is given for some benefit.” (1Cor. 12: 4, 7)

The movement and work of the Holy Spirit is often overlooked and I fear at times taken for granted. It is easy, sometimes, to confuse the work of the Spirit as one’s own personal achievement. However, to recognize the promptings and work of the Holy Spirit in our lives is a grace beyond compare; to know that God is actively working and guiding every aspect of our lives by bestowing personal spiritual gifts. It is through each of our individual gifts that the Kingdom of God is built here on earth. Could you imagine what the Church would look like if we all had the same gift? This Pentecost, I encourage you to examine what gift the Holy Spirit bestows upon you. Have you thanked the Holy Spirit for that gift lately and do you utilize it in the building up of the Kingdom of God here at St. Antoninus? May the Holy Spirit continue to be your guide!

Please take the Traveling Chalice into your home for one week as a reminder to pray for vocations to the priesthood and religious life. Call Debbie at 922-2414.

Thank you to Carmine and Amy Domenicone Family who took the Traveling Chalice into their home this week.

HOLY SPIRIT PRAYER GROUP

The Holy Spirit is Himself the best gift we have ever received. The truth that the all-holy God could dwell within us making us a “temple of the Holy Spirit” is very difficult for us to appreciate in its fullness. Since we have just celebrated the great feast of Pentecost, Ben Klaene will speak about the Holy Spirit and His gifts to us. There will also be a time of prayer for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Don’t miss this opportunity to open your heart to the abundant life the Lord wishes to give you. In Chapel, Tuesday 7:30 PM.

BID N BUY DONATIONS

The Bid N Buy booth is still looking for donations to this year’s summer festival.  If you picked up a donation duck in the greeting room, please drop off your donation to the parish office between 8AM-3PM Monday thru Friday.  If your donation is not yet ready, please e-mail Mary Beth Corey at mb4pc@hotmail.com with a description of the donation and its value so that it will appear in the Bid N Buy book.

SUMMER FESTIVAL IS FAST APPROACHING!!  Mark your calendars now, for the festival is only a few weeks away!!  June 11th, 12th and 13th.  Plan to join us for a fun-filled weekend with many new booths planned for this year.  Also new this year is a chicken dinner from THE FARM on Sunday from 5 – 7 p.m.  Come feast on the scrumptious chicken, creamy mashed potatoes and the famous green beans.  Our Major Award is $10,000 again this year, so don’t forget to send in your major award tickets.  Who couldn’t use an extra $10,000??  But you can’t win if you don’t buy a ticket!!  Odds are much better than the lottery so consider buying your tickets.  They can be dropped at the rectory or put into the collection basket.  This is an important fundraiser for the Athletic Club with proceeds benefiting the Parish as well.  We need everyone’s support to make this a successful event.  If you have any questions, please call Dave Bengel @ 922-3535.

SETON/ELDER LAFFALOT SUMMER CAMPS for ages 6 thru 12 on June 14-18 and June 28-July 2.  Call Pat at 313-2076 to register.
